WebP is useful when you want a modern image export while producing the formats your channels need. Typly lets you choose WebP for every selected output in the same batch.
How to do it in Typly
- Upload JPG, PNG, or WebP source images.
- Select one or more output destinations or add an exact custom size.
- Choose WebP in the Format control.
- Adjust output quality, create the pack, and download the exports.
Tip: Lower quality creates smaller files; keep it high when sharp product details or baked-in type need to stay crisp.
Choose the right settings
Use WebP when the destination supports it
WebP often delivers a smaller file than an equivalent JPG or PNG while supporting both photographic content and transparency. Some older publishing systems or marketplace uploaders may still specify JPG or PNG, so follow the destination requirement.
Tune quality by image type
Photographs usually tolerate a moderate quality reduction better than screenshots, logos, diagrams, or graphics with small text. Create a test output and inspect important edges at normal viewing size before processing the full batch.
Common questions
Does converting to WebP change the dimensions?
The format and canvas size are separate controls. Typly converts to WebP at each selected preset or custom dimension, so choose the intended output size before creating the pack.
Can WebP keep transparency?
Yes. Select Keep whole image, choose the Transparent background, and export as WebP. If you switch to JPG, Typly changes the unsupported transparent background to a solid neutral background.
Make the output pack
Typly works directly in your browser. Add your images, choose the formats that matter, then create a downloadable ZIP of your selected outputs.
