Product imagery often needs a clean square version for ecommerce, plus alternate social versions for promotion. Typly makes the square product export part of the same batch instead of a separate task.
How to do it in Typly
- Upload a product image with enough source resolution.
- Select Shopify product in the Output pack.
- Choose Keep whole image to preserve the full product silhouette, or Fill frame for a tighter presentation.
- Export the final image in the file format your catalogue workflow requires.
Tip: Use a consistent fit choice across a product collection so listing imagery feels intentional and comparable.
Choose the right settings
Preserve a consistent product scale
Catalogue pages look more trustworthy when products occupy a similar amount of each square. Keep whole image protects the silhouette; prepare originals with comparable margins when a collection needs strict visual consistency.
Match the background to the catalogue
White is a safe neutral, transparent PNG works for flexible storefront layouts, and a brand colour can support editorial collections. Blur and mirror are generally better suited to social extensions than primary product listing images.
Common questions
Will this improve a low-resolution product photo?
It will create the required canvas size but cannot restore missing source detail. For a crisp 2048-pixel output, begin with an original that is at least as detailed as the intended display.
Can I process a product batch?
Yes. Add up to twelve supported images and select the Shopify product output. Typly creates one square result per source and can package the full batch in a ZIP.
Make the output pack
Typly works directly in your browser. Add your images, choose the formats that matter, then create a downloadable ZIP of your selected outputs.
