The fastest way to prepare social creative is to avoid making the same image twice. Typly can turn one original into both square post and vertical story exports in the same output pack.

How to do it in Typly

  1. Upload a source image to Typly.
  2. Select Instagram post for a square 1080 × 1080 version.
  3. Also select Instagram story for a vertical 1080 × 1920 version when you need both.
  4. Use Fill frame for an intentional crop, or Keep whole image to retain the complete image.

Tip: Review the two aspect ratios separately. A crop that works for the square may hide an important subject in the vertical version.

Choose the right settings

Protect faces, products, and baked-in text

Use the focal-point control separately for the post and story. Place the marker on the subject that must remain visible, then check the safe-zone guide before exporting a filled frame.

Choose a background for uncropped artwork

Keep whole image is useful when a logo, border, or line of text reaches the edge. White, black, a brand colour, a blurred extension, or a mirrored extension can turn the remaining canvas into a deliberate frame.

Common questions

Can I create the post and story together?

Yes. Select both outputs and Typly creates both versions from every source image in the same job. Each result is named by destination inside the downloaded ZIP.

Which format should I choose?

JPG works for photographic posts, PNG preserves transparency and crisp graphic edges, and WebP often produces a lighter modern file. Check the platform or scheduling tool you publish through before a critical campaign.

Make the output pack

Typly works directly in your browser. Add your images, choose the formats that matter, then create a downloadable ZIP of your selected outputs.
